Laboratory Technician – Phlebotomist

Responsibilities
- The Laboratory Technician will be responsible to perform various clinical laboratory procedures following set guidelines and ensure that all quality control checks and standards are run as required.
- The Laboratory Technician will collect blood and specimen as required, following Ministry of Health guidelines, and be responsible to conduct other health tests such as ECG and blood pressure.
- Practice medical asepsis and infection control at all times. All company and government regulations are to be followed.
- Routine disinfection of work area and equipment cleaning and sterilization to be done as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an approved Laboratory Technologist program or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent and related experience in phlebotomy, ECG, Holter monitoring, data entry, and sample sorting is preferred.
- Proficient in the use of computers and common software applications.
- Proficiency in both French and English is a strong asset.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A criminal record check will be required prior to hiring.
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Salary range: $24.24 – $29.21 per hour
