Responsabilities:
  • Provide assessments and counselling services to individuals, families and groups to meet the psychosocial needs of clients.
  • Work with the interdisciplinary team to develop a treatment plan outlining therapeutic goals appropriate to the clients’ needs.
  • Provide information, referrals and client advocacy when needed.
  • Facilitate client linkages with internal and external resources and effectively coordinate client support.
  • Participate in community development, education on wellbeing and other issues based on the needs of the community.
  • Take part in the evaluation and ongoing improvement of services and programs provided at the Health Centre.
  • Help prepare, organize and disseminate programs, as well as educational and preventive material relating to mental health.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualifications accompanied by practical work experiences.
  • Registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Minimum three years of counselling experience working with multiple populations.
  • Knowledge, training and experience working in different models of counselling, assessment and psychotherapy.
  • Knowledge and understanding of resources available in the community.
  • Ability to react effectively and efficiently in crisis situations.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Proficient oral and written language skills.
  • French language skills are an asset for this position.
  • Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • A criminal records check will be required before hiring.
