Responsabilities:
- Provide assessments and counselling services to individuals, families and groups to meet the psychosocial needs of clients.
- Work with the interdisciplinary team to develop a treatment plan outlining therapeutic goals appropriate to the clients’ needs.
- Provide information, referrals and client advocacy when needed.
- Facilitate client linkages with internal and external resources and effectively coordinate client support.
- Participate in community development, education on wellbeing and other issues based on the needs of the community.
- Take part in the evaluation and ongoing improvement of services and programs provided at the Health Centre.
- Help prepare, organize and disseminate programs, as well as educational and preventive material relating to mental health.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualifications accompanied by practical work experiences.
- Registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
- Minimum three years of counselling experience working with multiple populations.
- Knowledge, training and experience working in different models of counselling, assessment and psychotherapy.
- Knowledge and understanding of resources available in the community.
- Ability to react effectively and efficiently in crisis situations.
- Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Proficient oral and written language skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in French and English, both orally and in writing.
- Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- A criminal records check will be required before hiring.
Work conditions:
- Full-time permanent
- 35 hours per week
- 4-day work week
