Telemedicine

Individuals of all ages and all residents of Sudbury East are welcome to access our services. If you’re experiencing challenges such as limited space at home, a lack of privacy, or uncertainty about how to set up or use virtual platforms for appointments, we’re here to support you. Univi Health Centre offers a safe, private space equipped for virtual appointments, ensuring you can connect with health professionals comfortably and confidently.

The Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN)

The Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) offers all Ontario residents access to telemedicine consultations with a medical specialist while remaining close to home. Your appointment with your primary care provider resembles a regular medical appointment but the primary care provider you are consulting with will appear on a television screen, through various platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, etc. Ontario Telemedicine Network services are free to all Ontario residents and put you in contact with the right health care provider at the right time and at the right place. Virtual care maximizes the opportunity to keep individuals healthy at home, minimizes the stress when health care delivery is not coordinated and, ultimately, reduces pressure on hospitals.

How to Access Telemedicine

To support your virtual care needs, the secretary at Univi Health Centre can reserve a time slot for your online appointment. If you would like to coordinate your visit with one of Univi’s specialists through telemedicine, simply let them know.

The Virtual Care Coordinator will then follow up with you to arrange the appointment and ensure everything is set up for a smooth and convenient experience.
