ALBAN, March 9th, 2021 – The COVID-19 Vaccine Implementation Committee for Sudbury East, which is led by Public Health Sudbury & Districts held its first COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Monday March 1st at the Community Centre in Alban. Based on Ministry guidelines, the first doses of the vaccine have been administered to our highest priority health care workers who have been tirelessly working the frontlines throughout the pandemic.
“This is one step closer to ending the pandemic. The success of the first vaccine clinic could not have been possible without the collaboration efforts of all local organizations as well as with Public Health Sudbury & Districts”, comments Nicolle Plante-Dupuis, Executive Director at Univi Health Centre.
The COVID-19 Vaccine Implementation Committee for Sudbury East continues to work diligently with Public Health Sudbury & Districts to identify those eligible to receive the vaccine during phase one of the vaccine rollout, and over time, every eligible individual living in Sudbury East will have access to the vaccine. The community-based mass immunization clinics for Sudbury East will be held at the Community Centre in Alban and in St.-Charles. All dates and times for future immunization clinics will be provided directly to all eligible individuals when details are known. We are committee to ensuring support is available for appointment scheduling and travel-related challenges.
While we understand that some questions may be unanswered at this time, we will continue to provide updates as they become available. We appreciate everyone’s patience during this time, as this is an unprecedented immunization rollout, and the planning efforts required to bring the COVID-19 vaccine to our communities are extensive.
Together, we are committee and hopeful to bring an end to this pandemic!
