Univi Health Centre Honours the Late Claude Mayer

October 18, 2019

NOËLVILLE, October 8th, 2019 – Following its Annual General Meeting, Univi Health Centre is pleased to announce that the community meeting room at its Noëlville site has been renamed the Salle Claude Mayer. Alongside a successful teaching career, Mr. Mayer was a very dedicated member to his community, and the first mayor of the Municipality of French River founded in 1999. His community involvement extended to founding and organizing various events and committees, in addition to establishing a housing and health cooperative to help improve health services in the area and provide a housing option for the seniors.

Among employees of Univi Health Centre, the Board of Directors and community members at large, Mr. Michel Mayer, Executive Director of Univi Health Centre, Ms. Francine Mayer, and Mr. Gérard Dignard, President of the Board of Directors of Univi Health Centre, all took part in the ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony.

“Claude was first and foremost a man of community and a visionary. It is thanks to his experienced involvement that we can boast of having such a good offer of health services in our region,” states Mr. Dignard. “Naming a room in his honour is the least that we could do.”
